What’s new on the menu?
There are some very tempting new dishes on the new menu at The Stable. We should know – we got to try some ourselves! Here’s the lowdown on what you should order next time you stop by:
The Pot of Gold – This aptly named sharer is a dipping pot of West Country cider infused melted cheese. Think of it as a boozy fondue. There’s also a lovely hint of rosemary and garlic and it’s served with slices of delicious sourdough. This is a must try dish for cheese and cider lovers alike.
Smoked Duck Salad – If you’re watching your waistline try this tasty salad. It comes with blood orange, pomegranate seeds & pine nuts, and it is tossed with watercress, red cabbage and a black garlic balsamic dressing.
Heart Skipped A Beet Pizza – This entirely vegan pizza is topped with roasted beetroot, courgette, red onion and vegan cheese. It’s finished with a generous serving of fresh rocket and a drizzle of garlic and herb oil. We loved this dish and we think that it’s high time that a vegan pizzas got to take centre stage on the menu. Not usually a fan of vegan food? You’re going to be pleasantly surprised by this beauty.
Capreolus Charcuterie & Cheese Sharing Board – The Stable has sourced award-winning air-dried beef, smoked mutton, Rampisham Tingler salami and a cured pork loin. This is all served with a selection of artisanal cheese, sliced sourdough and spiced tomato chutney – yum.
Royale with Cheese pizza – This is a pizza that will truly surprise you! Marinated Longhorn ground beef, white onion and cheddar are piled onto a sesame seed crust and finished with shredded baby gem lettuce, house pickles and burger sauce. It’s basically a Big Mac disguised as a pizza and it’s very very tasty.
Hook, Line and Sinker Pizza – Now this is a show stopping pizza. Marinated cod, coley or pollock (depending on the season) is accompanied by garlic new potatoes, broccoli, chorizo and mozzarella. This is then finished with romesco, which is a roasted red pepper and almond sauce. Eco warriors will be pleased to learn that the fish for the new Hook, Line and Sinker pizza will change depending on the seasonal availability of either cod, coley or pollock and all fish sourced sustainably from Weymouth-based, West Country Catch.
Cider poached pear – This is exactly what it says on the tin, served with an almond & vanilla cake with crème fraiche.
The Heart of Dorset pudding – This very West Country dessert is a creamy pot of melted Dorset chocolate served with fresh strawberries and sugared sourdough.
